Spectrum is a literary and arts journal that publishes anything that is reproducible in two dimensions. We strive to represent a spectrum of voices, experiences, and types of art in our journal. Spectrum was founded in 1957 and since then has been passed down through many years of UCSB students.
This year, to commemorate the 60th edition of the journal, we will be producing an anthology of outstanding work from past issues of Spectrum. We will accomplish this task with the help of our wonderful staff readers throughout Winter Quarter, and we hope to publish the journal by the middle of Spring Quarter.
In addition to publishing the 60th edition, we will focus on increasing our marketing efforts. Specifically, we will create a new and improved website and we will attend the AWP Conference in Washington DC to promote the journal. We are looking forward to laying the groundwork for future generations of Spectrum staff; we hope that we can help make the journal as successful as possible!
